Definitions
In this Agreement the following
words shall, unless the context otherwise requires, have the
following meanings:
“Award” means the award of basmaPoints to the Cardholder.
“Award Transaction” means any transaction, which results
in basmaPoints being awarded to a Cardholder.
“basma” means the brand name “basma” and includes all
registered and
unregistered trademarks, service marks, registered designs,
copyrights, rights in design, inventions and confidential
information owned and / or used by the basmaPartners.
“basmaCard” or “Card” means the basmaProgramme
card issued by the basmaPartners to You.
"basmaPartners" means
BankMuscat, Oman Oil Marketing Company, Nawras and Lulu Hypermarkets.
“basmaPoints” or “Points” means points awarded to You
under the basmaProgramme.
“basmaProgramme” or “Programme” shall mean the
customer rewards programme jointly established and developed by
BM and OOMCO.
“basma Transaction” means any Award Transaction or
Redemption Transaction.
“Your Account” means your account in which basmaPoints
are credited or debited pursuant to basma Transactions.
“basmaMerchant” means any merchant or retailer who enters
into an agreement with the basmaPartners to participate in the basmaProgramme.
“PIN” is the personal identification number issued to a
Cardholder, or selected by a Cardholder and used to identify and
authenticate the Cardholder as a participant in the basmaProgramme.
“Points Formula” means the exchange rate between points
and the currency of the Sultanate of Oman.
“POS Terminal” means the point of sale terminal through
which basmaPoints are debited / credited to Your Account.
“Redemption Transaction” means any transaction in the
nature of a purchase or sale of goods using basmaPoints, which
results in basmaPoints being reduced from the Cardholders
Account.
Interpretations
The titles or headings of the
Clauses in these Terms and Conditions have been included for
ease of reference only and shall not be considered in the
interpretation or construction of any provision(s) of these
Terms and Conditions.
